Patch #2524 Accepted

Two years and eight months after I submitted patch 2524 (Experience Left on Stats Bar Hover), it has been accepted into the official client. They had to do some cleaning up, but hey, another Awnage makes it into the big leagues.

Big thanks to 0ctane for providing a new build of the client in case the OSX version was effected by a nasty memory leak bug.

spAwnage 1.9.1 has been released.

• Windows (place in your EL folder and make a shortcut to this file instead)
• diff (for all you Linux junkies: patch -p1 < awnagepatch20110103.diff

Latest RC test

If you have installed the 1.9.1rc2 RC patch, see if this Windows client works for you. Please make sure to leave a comment if it does or does not work for you!

For those osx/linux users out there, here is a working diff. Put it into your elc source directory and run:
patch -p1 < awnagepatch20101220.diff

It does not separate out the chat by month unfortunately, but everything else should work as expected.

If you encounter a crash it is most likely because you have not installed the new image/actor files yet.

Welcome LNX

Entropy has given permission for guild LNX to join the Awnage testing community. Thanks go out to Bluap, Vegar, Placid, and Quesar for their contributions to the client and EL community in general.

Reminder about usage

A reminder about using this client. Only Riva, CEL, HIM, or JusT, have permission from Entropy/Radu to use the client. If you are not in this list, you risk being banned from EL. (hint hint Infinity)

EPM Patch

Submitted the ExperiencePerMinute patch #002936 to Berlios. Kind of fun to watch it while harvesting. Now to get permission for Awnage....

Edit: Permission granted to add to full client on Feb 23,2010: "Yes, I guess it won't hurt. Post it in the programming forums and ask for someone to apply the patch."

I bet a lot of you are wondering what is happening with Awnage. Well, I took a several month break to focus on other things. Played some Runes of Magic which is really sweet but lacks a community aspect. There is a new client to be released rather soon (1.9). I have updated my patch files so we should be able to get out a Awnage 1.9 before too long.

Hatwood gave the suggestion to add an exp/min counter in the counters which I may implement if I get around to it. Remember, suggestions are always welcome, just post a comment so I can see them.

Masochism

I submitted a client update to the repository today so that the new "You hurt yourself,..." gets added to the Events counter. It will track the number of times you hurt yourself, as opposed to how badly you hurt yourself. As usual, it will be included in our next release.

1.8.3 Resurrection Eggs

For those who are twitching and itching to get the latest CVS with tracking of new harvest events and such, here is the latest patch. There are no Easter eggs in it though.
Note: The auto-close storage is now removed, in favor of the context menu option. Sure it is not as good as awnage, but I don't want to clutter up the code as much.

1.8.2 Silly Billy Goat

A big thanks to Lazerus of CEL for pointing out an options bug that has probably been around for ages.

Ryddler has provided the windows build again and, here is the diff file for 1.8.2 which should patch clean against today's CVS.

1.8.0 almost here

EL 1.8.0 is almost here. The version number was committed to CVS today.

And of course, I have a patchfile for Awnage ready as well that only needs a "patch -p1 < awnagepatch20090107.diff" to add the goodness. I just need to make a compile for Windows now...

Google Context Menu

In game today, Ryddler suggested that it would be cool to have a Google search option when selecting text in the console. Sounded like fun to me! It is patch #2585 in the EL Berlios repository now. It will patch against clean CVS today. Because it changes non-awnage related areas, it should patch cleanly against an awnage source build as well. But remember, you can only use it on the test server until it is approved.

Second Annual Ryddler's Diabetes Raffle

I made patch 002524 to re-implement the Experience Left on Stats Bar Hover that we had a while ago in the client. It will be added back into Awnage on the next build/release.
